Eagles Landing, Gainesville, Florida Aerie #4385
President
What does it mean to you to be an Eagles member?
It means that I have a way of giving back to the community and at the same time enjoying the camaraderie of a joint effort conducted with other Eagles member. Eagles membership also means celebrating successes together and sharing sorrows through mutual support.
What has being a member done for you?
It has enabled me to be more empathetic and understanding. The Eagles have also helped me to grow as a leader.
Why do you feel being a member of the Eagles is important?
Being an Eagle is important because people can see the larger picture when dealing with those in need. Membership also helps individuals learn to get along in social situations with members from all stations in life and with all levels of education. As we say during initiation, equality opens the door of friendship and true fraternalism.
Why should others join the Eagles?
Others should join the Eagles to share the experience of becoming part of an organization that truly believes in "People Helping People," and having fun while doing it.
What are the social benefits of being an Eagles member?
The social aspects of Eagledom are reflected in every member's acceptance at any aerie or auxiliary. The common thread of brotherhood and sisterhood transcend who we are, where we came from and what we did or do for a livelihood. We will be welcomed and made to feel at home in any Aerie we visit.
