Aerie 3296 had the trailer ready on March 1, 2008 and was the first one in the state
of Florida. Greatwide Logistics donated the reefer trailer, which means water, etc.,
will be cold. Paul Anderson worked hard in getting Aerie 3296 to be the First in
Florida. The Past Presidents of #3296, individual members, and now our fellow South
West, FL Aeries, thank you and let's keep rolling.

On April 19. 2008 Garry Milam, Aerie 4070 President, South West Regional Chairman
of our FOE National Disaster Relief Program recognized Pepsi Hawthorne, member of
Aerie 4070 for his donation of a 45ft. semi trailer to Grand Worthy President John
Potters national project. Aerie 4070, Chickasha Ok. is presently working on having
this trailer painted & decal, being at Spiro Ok. for state convention.
Dowagiac, MI
Every Thanksgiving, members of Aerie/Auxiliary 2441 provide a holiday dinner for
the duty crew of the Dowagiac City Fire Dept. and their families. "The dinner has
been provided to the Fire Department for a number of years," says Assistant Fire
Chief Dale R. Hutchings, "and this furnished meal allows the fire and EMS crew,
who work a 24-hour shift, to sit down with their families at the fire station and
enjoy a wonderful holiday meal together."

Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3256 presented a total of $6,325 in grants from the Eagles
Jimmy Durante Children's Fund to Doernbecher Children's Hospital representative
Lynn Trainer (second from left) for the Hospital's Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect
(SCAN) program.

El Reno, OK - Ninety-five-year old L.L. Bond has been a member of local Aerie 220
for 74 years, and on March 22 he was honored by local and State Eagles for his service.
Mr. Bond - the oldest living Eagle in the Sooner State - received a Founder's Award
from the Grand Aerie and a plaque for his dedication as a member of Aerie 220.
El Reno Aerie received its charter on May 1, 1902, when Oklahoma was still a territory,
not a state. When Mr. Bond joined the Eagles, his annual dues were $1.50.

One of the ways Sisters of Eagles Auxiliary 140 raise funds for charity is by making
and selling their popular Saimin Soup in the Aerie kitchen. The delicious soup is
a big seller.

Junction City, KS
Eagles Aerie 830 held a chili feed on March 15 to raise funds for the Grandview
Plaza Volunteer Fire Department. A total of $280 was raised at the event, and then
the Aerie and Auxiliary both added $300 apiece.

Stephanie Pierce of Auxiliary 2681 has been recognized many times over for her ability
to raise funds for the FOE charities. Here she receives an award for donating the
most money to the Eagles Golden Eagle Fund's Alzheimer's project in 2006-07.
New Port Richey, FL
Eagles Aerie 3153 sponsored a Guys and Dolls Golf Outing that raised $1,500 for
Hospice of Hernando.

Portage, MI
Local Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 3531 partnered with the Neon Nite Cruisers Car Club
to sponsor a Car Show/Sock Hop to benefit Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo. The event
featured games, food, a dance contest, raffles and much more, plus 69 show cars
on display.
Committee Chairman Marsha Clapp, Neon Nites President Jack Seigel, Treasurer Dottie
Siegel, Worthy President Jerry Ridderbos, Madam President Judi Corwin and Committee
member Ron Wuis presented a check for $6,009 to Laura Latiolais of Greater Kalamazoo
Hospice.
Silver Springs, FL
"I want to thank the members of Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 4216 for their donation of
$4,000 to Hospice of Marion County, Inc.," wrote Development Assistant Karen Haven
to the local Eagles. "This contribution will help us to continue to provide care
and support to patients and families facing a most difficult and challenging time
in their lives."
Officers of the Aerie and Auxiliary presented the donation to Ms. Haven at the Aerie
home.
Tooele, UT
Kevin and Barbara Denner of Aerie/Auxiliary 164 received a plaque from Kaleb Jones
after the local Eagles raised $2,700 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help send
Kaleb to DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida.
Viroqua, WI
Eagles Aerie/Auxiliary 2707 members Judy and Dennis Jass delivered Christmas gifts
for residents of four area nursing homes last holiday season.
