I am the coordinator for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program in Butler/Warren County, Ohio. In each of the last six years, members of the Lebanon Eagles have made a monetary donation, and for the last three or so years they have collected and distributed toys for us, as well. One member, W.C. Burgess, has been extremely helpful in making sure everything gets done. I want everyone to know how thankful we here at Toys for Tots are, for without the support of the Eagles and other local organizations, we could not assist the children that we do each year. I personally feel these guys and gals deserve recognition for all their hard work and kind hearts. Thank you, and Semper Fi, Karen Tannreuther

The Huntingburg, IN Eagles truly are "People Helping People." Saturday, Nov. 10th, we helped sponsor a dinner/dance and auction to benefit Herbie Alexander. Herbie is battling cancer with no insurance. His family turned to us in their time of need. The dinner, dance and auction rose close to $5,000. His sister Linda Burress, an auxiliary member was a huge supporter. All in all, the day was a huge success. Many members, family and friends came out to support. We wish Herbie the best for his future. Callie Meunier Aerie #3335 Huntingburg, IN

Members of F.O.E. Aerie 143, Moe and I would like to thank you for sharing the turkey dinner with us and the other people with Multiple Sclerosis and friends. It was also so nice to see our friend Linda Vidmar. We have been attending this great event for at least the past five years and have really enjoyed it every year! Keep up the good work! Thanks again, Bill Pierce

I would like to welcome the five newest Junior Order of Eagle members to the Vincennes, IN aerie #384. These little Eagles are the future of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and we are so excited they are part of our great organization. This just shows it's never too early to become an Eagle! In the early morning hours, on November 10 Collinsville Aerie #3739 members Harold and Linda Boyd's family home caught on fire. Harold suffered some smoke inhalation and some burns. His wife Linda was flown to Baptist Hospital in NC and was treated in critical condition — she has since been released. With deepest sympathy and regret, their son, Brian, did not survive the fire. To the Virginia Eagles, Harold is known by all as the "Watermelon Man." He is our current treasurer and is a past worthy president. He has been a member of our FOE since January 1978. Linda is our auxiliary secretary and has been named to the Virginia Hall of Fame as well as our Mrs. Eagle 2007. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers! We are collecting donations for the Boyd family during this crucial time of need. Any donations for the family can be sent to: Collinsville Aerie #3739 "Home of the Watermelon Patch" 210 Mill Creek Road Bassett, VA 24055 Fraternally, The members of Aerie #3739 Bassett, VA

Grand Worthy President John Potter was recently made an honorary member of the #4070 Chickasha, Oklahoma Eagle Riders. Brother Potter is the first Grand Aerie officer to become a member of the Eagle Riders. The Eagle Rider's mission is to have fun in a family oriented organization, dedicated to the enjoyment of motorcycles, safe riding, and promoting the Fraternal Order of Eagles. For the past three years, my wife and I have run our 1900's horseless carriage replicas through local parades representing the Spokane Valley Eagles, Aerie #3433. We have since added a few friends also representing the Aerie and also running horseless carriage replicas. We are now a group of six, sometimes seven running three replicas, with two more scheduled to be built this winter, adding more members to our little group of parade/Aerie members. Sometimes finding candy chuckers and candy can be troublesome but we always manage to represent our Aerie. My wife has decided that until all of our troops are home from Iraq, we will dress and run: RED, WHITE and BLUE. She has commissioned vests for all of our drivers and candy chuckers with the red, white and blue predominate. We wanted to let other Eagle members know WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS. Thank You, Willie Roy and Lonnie Walker-Roy Spokane Valley Eagles Aerie #3433

The Modesto Eagles are proud to announce that once again, we are "People Helping People." In August of this year, the VFW Post 3199 in Modesto burned down with no recoverable structure remaining. The Eagles of Modesto stepped up and offered their facility to Post 3199 for both their monthly meetings, (held the 2nd Friday of each month and the 2nd Sunday of each month) at no charge or rental. We are proud that no other organization was able to offer both our hall and its bar to those who have served our great country over the years. With many members of our Armed Forces returning from service or retiring from service, we felt it was extremely important to help wherever possible. Our grand and glorious hall was certainly a starting point. With many other "renters" over the course of a month, we were able to accommodate this fine Post with their normally scheduled dates along with bar facilities and kitchen facilities.
