Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – March 2024

Four Aerie and Auxiliaries in our area worked together to put Bonner General Health Foundation over the finish line in their fundraising efforts to purchase bionic exoskeleton. This apparatus aids people who have suffered strokes, ms, Parkinson’s disease, brain and spinal cord injuries and others who may have lower limb disabilities. This is the first one in the state of Idaho and will help patients in western Washington, Montana, Canada as well as Idaho. Post Falls Aerie, Coeur d’Alene Aerie & Auxiliary, Hayden Lake Aerie & Auxiliary and Sandpoint Joint Aerie/Auxiliary each applied for a $2,000 grant from the State/Grand Aerie Spinal Cord Injury Fund. At the District 4 Meeting held at Post Falls Eagles on March 10th, BGHF representatives gave a presentation on the ways the exoskeleton is helping their patients and we presented them with a check for $12,000.
